Newest items are links to the Los Alamos National Laboratory site detailing NASA's plans to perform deep drilling operations on Mars. The ostensible purpose is to search for microbial life at depths up to 200 meters below the surface. Of course, the real purpose is to search for artificial structures below the surface, as evidenced by the image LANL has used to "advertise" their project -- Cydonia! The contact named at LANL for this project is Jim Blacic, well known for his previous proposal of constructing human habitats on the Moon -- out of glass. Sound familiar? It should ...

The most important new item is the link to the Tom Corbet - Space Cadet view master reels. This is a blatant reference to the Face on Mars and the tetrahedral model of Cydonia, as well the Exploded Planet Hypothesis. And it's from 1955! It will be interesting to see the conspiracy doubters explain this one.
Thanks to some last minute low air fares, I was fortunate enough to attend the CAUS/Enterprise Mission fund raiser in Phoenix this past weekend. Thanks to Peter Gersten of CAUS and Jim Dilettoso of Alien Zoo for a great time.

For all of you who did not attend, I have to say you missed a great show. The highlight of the evening was when Richard closed the show with a wonderful, lyrical, journey through the Tom Corbett Viewmaster slides. Describing it as a "fairy tale," even though we all knew it was really anything but, Richard mesmerized the crowd as the lights were lowered and he told the story of finding these slides nine years before. I think most of us in attendance became six years old -- like kids around a campfire -- as we listened to him recount the story of Cydonia as told from the unlikeliest sources. It is a moment I will truly treasure the rest of my life. I marvel at what I saw that night and I am truly proud to call Richard my friend.

Another new story from Steve, this time on the "Blair Cuspids." While several stories have appeared on the web recently on this subject, most have overlooked the the possibility of searching for other artifacts in the area. Not Steve. Please read and enjoy his report, and feel free to send him your comments on the story!

Added a new story by Steve about the oft-mentioned "Crisium Bridge." The story was submitted by a reader, but after a thorough examination Steve had to conclude that the "Bridge" does not exist. I concur. This is one of those "mysteries" that has been floating around for decades. Hopefully, Steve's story will put the myth of the "Crisium Bridge" to rest once and for all.
We appreciate the submission, but we gotta call 'em as we see 'em.

News Updates 9/22/99
I realize it has been quite awhile since the last update and I apologize. The research I have been doing for the Enterprise Mission has taken up all my time along with a lot of work related travel.
There are a couple of Lunar related updates coming from Steve Troy in the next month or so, so check back then for those. Meanwhile, I have now provided a link to Terry James site on the front page here. While I may respectfully disagree with some of Terry's conclusions, there is no doubt he is doing valuable work on both Lunar and Mars artifact research. Most of the Lunar data presented is from a source named "Frank," who's father was a highly placed NASA employee during the Apollo program. "Frank" has sent Terry quite a few scans from a set of original prints from that time period and they have been quite revealing. "Frank" offered me the opportunity to work with him as well, but time constraints have prevented me from doing so. In my opinion Terry has done very well extracting the data from these prints. Steve and I did check on some of "Frank's" images currently in the NASA archive, and have found that in all those that we checked, the "offending objects" have been removed.
This does not change my opinion of the integrity of the current NASA dataset, it only reinforces it.

Since my piece "SPSR Wimps Out" came out, both Dr. Mark Carlotto and Lan Fleming of SPSR have released their reports on the web. Carlotto's can be found at the Martian Enigma's web site, and Fleming's at the VGL site. Fleming has also produced and excellent article comparing the Face on Mars to ancient artifcial ruins on Earth. I also was provided with a copy of his report by James Erjavic of SPSR. I may post it here or he may decide to put a copy on his own web site. We'll see.

There are new enhancements of the "Corner Pyramid" and the "Upper Courtyard" from the second Cydonia image taken April 14th. Thanks to Richard Hoagland for help and advice on the enhancement process.
Given the degree of contact now between myself and Mr. Hoagland, I will be updating the disclaimer page in the near future. While I seek to remain independent, I have been and will continue to share information with him, and I occasionally seek his advice on technical issues.
Obviously, a lot has been going on lately. The sudden late March announcement of new imaging plans for the Cydonia region caught most of us off-guard, and I like everyone else have been scrambling to keep up with new developments. The recently posted analysis of these new images will be updated as new enhancements are finished. I know that this is supposed to be the Lunar Anomalies Homepage, but the ruins on Mars have a direct correlation to the hypothesis about lunar ruins and I did not feel I could ignore such a critical breaking news story. Expect a new series of articles on the third image coming soon.
Kynthia was kind enough to produce a new logo for my page, and I have recently posted it. Let me know how you like it and don't hesitate to let her know either, she loves to get compliments!
The Data Points section gets updated this time with a preview of a new area Steve Troy and I have been investigating. Again, I'd be interested in comments on your impressions of the objects.
Mike Bara will be appearing on the radio program "Nightsearch" in Memphis Tennessee on Sunday evening May 17th. Tune in to WREC 600 AM at 7:00 PM to hear the show if you are in the area.

The "Data Points" section is new. This is to provide general background information on related topics in a brief, less complete format. The advantage of this is that it will allow for more frequent updates and create a natural location for "Preview" data. Look for month to month updates here in between major reports.
Speaking of major reports, expect the next full update around early April. This will incorporate a new set of standards that I have agreed to with the help of Francis Ridge and the Lunascan Project. Although there is more to report about in Mare Crisium, this next report will take us elsewhere.

The new Crisium pages have been added. The first section is Steve Troy's impressions of the new data, the second section is mine. We have found a number of new anomalies in this region, but Steve and I disagree over whether the new data confirms the presence of a glass dome or not. Read our reports and judge for yourselves.
The question of just what type of structures we can expect to find on the Moon has been raised to Steve and I by Richard Hoagland. Hoagland is adamant that the "Domes" he refers to are box like, multi tiered structures rather than the proverbial "inverted salad bowl". His position is that even if such "Salad bowls" exist, they are long since shattered and degraded. Our Crisium report is in direct conflict with this perspective, as it seems to show just such a "Salad Bowl" edge on, pretty much intact. To my knowledge, Mr. Hoagland has not yet seen our report. While I respect his opinion on these matters a great deal, I stand by my position regarding Steve Troy's "Crisium Dome".
The Tycho probability article is just the first in a series of installments on this subject. Since it was written, I have had several long conversations with Mr. Hoagland regarding the paper, and I will be revising certain portions of it in the future. It should be noted that Mr. Hoagland has stated that he feels that a one degree margin of error is too loose a tolerance, and that his earlier work had to be far closer to be considered a "hit". I nonetheless stand by the validity of the simplified model used.
As you can see, I have updated the "Look and Feel" of TLAHP with this revision, and more is to come. I swiped the current logo from Kynthia's Planetary Mysteries page, and she has kindly agreed to create a new permanent logo for this site. Other changes and more frequent updates are in the works.

Steve Troy has joined the Lunar Anomalies research team! Steve is an analog Lunar researcher introduced to me by Richard Hoagland at the Phoenix Enterprise Mission event. Our first dual report on the Mare Crisium area is in the "Areas of interest" section below. These images are only the tip of iceberg. Steve has amassed a vast library of Lunar data that is so overwhelming that it will ultimately end any debate as to the presence of ancient artificial structures on the Moon. I'm very excited by this new alliance and am gratified that Steve has been independently examining both figures 3 and 4 from this page. We have decided to team up and pool our resources on these images as well.
I have finally found the frame number for "Figure 4". It is LO-III-213-M, and I should have the print from NSSDC in a week or so. I have also located the frame numbers for the Copernicus images, and should also be getting them soon along with some additional photo's not posted here yet.
